Preserving Heritage: Mihinthale Maha Seya Whitewash​ - Dudley Sirisena

As we approach the annual Poson festival, the historical cultural celebration of whitewashing the “Mihinthale Maha Seya” has commenced under the guidance of Reverend Walawahangunawawe Dammarathana Thero. This auspicious event has been made possible through my financial donation, marking the third consecutive year of my generous contribution to this meritorious festival.

My commitment to supporting this cultural endeavor aligns with the vihara abbot’s vision, both driven by a shared aim to benefit the people of our beloved country. The whitewashing of Mihinthale Maha Seya holds profound cultural significance, and my involvement is a testament to the importance of preserving our rich heritage.

A noteworthy aspect of this festival is the entire labor contribution provided by the Sri Lanka Air Force, an institution I have proudly represented on multiple occasions. Their dedication adds a unique touch to the event, symbolizing a harmonious collaboration between cultural preservation and national service.

Equally special is the generous contribution from the local villagers, reflecting a communal spirit that enhances the vibrancy of this cultural celebration. Together, we take pride in the collective effort that transforms this festival into a symbol of unity, cultural pride, and shared heritage.

As we embark on this journey for the third consecutive year, I express my gratitude to all involved, from the venerable Reverend Dammarathana Thero to the Sri Lanka Air Force and the villagers, for making this cultural preservation initiative a resounding success.
